On the exploitation of the SBAS Algorithm for the analysis of the deformations detected from the ERS and ENVISAT DInSAR data

چکیده
We present a Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (DInSAR) technique for generating displacement maps and deformation time-series by exploiting the SAR data acquired by the ERS and ENVISAT/ASAR systems. The proposed approach extends the Small Baseline Subset (SBAS) algorithm and is based on an easy but effective combination of ERS/ERS and ENVISAT/ENVISAT multilook interferograms, with no need of ERS/ENVISAT cross-interferograms. The presented results, obtained on a descending ERS and ENVISAT SAR data set, spanning the time interval from June 1992 until October 2003, are relevant to the Napoli Bay area (Italy) and clearly demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

This paper presents a web tool for the unsupervised retrieval of Earth’s surface deformation from Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) satellite data. The system is based on the implementation of the Differential SAR Interferometry (DInSAR) algorithm referred to as Parallel Small BAseline Subset (P-SBAS) approach, within the Grid Processing on Demand (G-POD) environment that is a part of the ESA’s Ge...

In the last few years, several advances have been made in the use of radar images to detect, map and monitor ground deformations. DInSAR (Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry) and A-DInSAR/PSI (Advanced DInSAR/Persistent Scatterers Interferometry) technologies have been successfully applied in the study of deformation phenomena induced by, for example, active tectonics, volcanic...
متن کاملSurface deformation analysis of the Napoli bay (Italy) area: sixteen years of ERS and ENVISAT DInSAR observations
Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (DInSAR) is a microwave remote sensing technique that allows us to investigate surface deformation phenomena with a centimeter to millimeter accuracy with a large spatial coverage capability. Firstly applied to investigate single deformation events, the DInSAR algorithms have further been developed to analyze the temporal evolution of the det...
متن کاملThe Use of C-/X-Band Time-Gapped SAR Data and Geotechnical Models for the Study of Shanghai's Ocean-Reclaimed Lands through the SBAS-DInSAR Technique
In this work, we investigate the temporal evolution of ground deformation affecting the ocean-reclaimed lands of the Shanghai (China) megacity, from 2007 to 2016, by applying the Differential Synthetic Aperture Radar Interferometry (DInSAR) technique known as the Small BAseline Subset (SBAS) algorithm. For the analysis, we exploited two sets of non-time-overlapped synthetic aperture radar (SAR)...

This paper reports the progress of the Envisat CAL/VAL Project No 1078. Subsidence in an underground coal mining region southwest of Sydney, Australia, has been monitored using ERS and JERS-1. Seven Envisat images have been acquired in various imaging modes from both ascending and descending passes over the same mining region. More Envisat images have been scheduled and will be acquired in the ...
